Brooke Blevins, dean of the College of Education Health and Human Sciences, and her team meet about the Vandal Early Literacy Symposium on Friday, February 24, 2026. Supported by the Garth and Frances Reid Literacy Initiative, the Vandal Early Literacy Symposium is a unique professional learning opportunity designed specifically for early literacy teachers. The three-day literacy symposium is focused on practical instructional strategies grounded in the Science of Reading research. All sessions are focused to help implement best literacy practices in the classroom.

Jane Vandal is University of Idaho's AI-powered student engagement assistant and one of the newest members of the Vandal enrollment team. Jane helps prospective students, admitted students and families navigate the college journey by providing answers, guidance and support across admissions, financial aid, enrollment, academics and campus life.

Whether you're exploring U of I, applying for admission, reviewing financial aid options or preparing to enroll, Jane is here to help. Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Jane provides quick answers and helpful guidance so students and families can move forward with confidence.

Jane works alongside University of Idaho admissions, enrollment and student support teams, extending their ability to serve students whenever and wherever questions arise.

University staff continue to review, improve and expand Jane's knowledge to support students and families.
