U of I’s Screen on the Green series returns with free outdoor movies all summer

University of Idaho’s free community movie nights begin June 18 on Theophilus Tower Lawn and continue weekly through early September

MOSCOW, Idaho — Outdoor movies return to University of Idaho this summer as the Department of Student Involvement launches another season of Screen on the Green, a free community movie series on the Theophilus Tower Lawn.

Screenings take place Thursday evenings beginning June 18 and continuing through Sept. 3, except for July 2. Films begin at dusk, around 8:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, snacks, friends and family for a relaxed evening under the stars.

The schedule includes:

  • June 18: “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” (PG-13, 2022)
  • June 25: “A Minecraft Movie” (PG, 2025)
  • July 9: “Cool Runnings” (PG, 1993)
  • July 16: “Goat” (PG, 2026)
  • July 23: “How to Train Your Dragon” (PG, 2025)
  • July 30: “Hoppers” (PG, 2026)
  • Aug. 6: “Grease” (PG, 1978)
  • Aug. 13: “The Iron Giant” (PG, 1999)
  • Aug. 20: “Anaconda” (PG-13, 2025)
  • Aug. 27: “Project Hail Mary” (PG-13, 2026)
  • Sept. 3: “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu” (PG-13, 2026)

The lineup is subject to change. Alternate locations in the event of bad weather will be determined on the day of the screening.

The Theophilus Tower Lawn is located off Paradise Creek Street, between Line Street and Stadium Drive in Moscow.
