U of I’s Screen on the Green movie series begins June 12 

Free weekly outdoor movies return with classics and new favorites

New Student Orientation Screen on the GreenAudience members enjoy a previous summer’s Screen on the Green outdoor movie series on Theophilus Tower Lawn at University of Idaho. The free event features fan favorites and new releases under the stars.

MOSCOW, Idaho — Catch a movie under the stars with Screen on the Green, back this summer at University of Idaho with a mix of fan favorites and new releases.

Hosted by the Department of Student Involvement, this free outdoor movie series takes place Thursday evenings on Theophilus Tower Lawn, except for the June 18 screening, which is on Wednesday to observe the Juneteenth holiday. Films begin at dusk (around 8:30 p.m.), with seating available starting at 7:30. Bring a blanket, lawn chair and your favorite snacks, and settle in for a relaxed night of entertainment.

The schedule includes:  

  • June 12: “Snail Hunters” (NR, 2024)
  • June 18: “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” (PG-13, 2022)
  • June 26: “The Lego Movie” (PG, 2014)
  • July 10: “The Mighty Ducks” (PG, 1992)
  • July 17: “Kung Fu Panda 4” (PG, 2024)
  • July 24: “Moana 2” (PG, 2024)
  • July 31: “A Minecraft Movie” (PG, 2025)
  • Aug. 7: “Cool Runnings” (PG, 1993)
  • Aug. 14: “Raiders of the Lost Ark” (PG, 1981)
  • Aug. 21: “Thunderbolts” (PG-13, 2025)
  • Aug. 28: “Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning” (PG-13, 2025)

The lineup is subject to change. In case of bad weather, screenings may be rescheduled for a later date.

Theophilus Tower Lawn is located off Paradise Creek Street, between Line Street and Stadium Drive in Moscow. Free public parking is available in Gold Lot 56 on the corner of Sixth and Rayburn streets.
