Volunteers needed for 59th Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival
Volunteers receive one free concert ticket for every four hours of service
February 19, 2026
MOSCOW, Idaho — Volunteers are needed for the 59th Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival taking place April 22-25 on University of Idaho’s Moscow campus.
All U of I students, employees and community members aged 18 or older with a passion for music and arts are invited to join the team. Volunteers receive one free concert ticket for every four hours of service. No experience is necessary.
Roy Derrick, who is going into his third year of volunteering, said the work of volunteers keeps the festival functioning.
“A good reason to be involved is that it makes you feel better about yourself,” he said. “Of course, being retired, I have the time to volunteer, but when I was younger, I was always scared to volunteer. However, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve seen how much of an impact this has. Many of these types of events cannot succeed without the volunteers.”
Volunteer positions include pre-festival office volunteer, performance site volunteer, information desk attendant, workshop presentation assistant, drive crew and more.
