MOSCOW, Idaho — University of Idaho, in collaboration with the Moscow Arts Commission, invites the public to attend the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival (LHJF) Poster Reveal Reception at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, at the Third Street Gallery inside Moscow City Hall, 206 E. Third St.

The event will feature performances by U of I student ensembles, catering by Goose House Bakery and original poster art by U of I alum Cody Muir ’16, who graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in studio art and design.

This year’s poster was the product of a close collaboration between Muir and festival manager Navin Chettri.

“Navin wanted to visualize the Palouse’s natural beauty in a musical context, which resonated with me too,” Muir said. “Through several iterations, our shared vision took shape as a dramatically lit scene, showcasing the Palouse’s rolling hills and some familiar U of I sights, where various instrument silhouettes are incorporated into crop row patterns, swirling atmosphere and this year’s logo itself.”

In addition to seeing the poster art, attendees will also be the first to learn the lineup of the world-class musicians performing at the 2026 LHJF.

“We're excited to showcase top-tier artists with a range of styles, including Latin jazz, hard bop, soul jazz, vocal jazz and big band music,” Chettri said. “It’s going to be a lineup that our audience won’t want to miss.”

The reception is free and open to the public. For more information about the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, visit uidaho.edu/events/jazz-fest. To learn more about Muir’s work, visit codymuir.com.
