MOSCOW, Idaho — University of Idaho will welcome alumni, students, employees and the Moscow community Sunday through Saturday, Oct. 5-11, for Homecoming, the university’s largest annual tradition celebrating the Vandal spirit.

This year’s homecoming theme selected by students is “Holla Back!” — a throwback to the year 2000, when iPods were first hitting pockets, phones snapped shut, skateboards ruled the streets and pop-punk anthems topped the charts. Vandals everywhere are invited to celebrate in true late-1990s/early-2000s style with a week of spirited events, community traditions, football and Vandal pride.

Event highlights include:

Friday, Oct. 10

  • Tap the Keg Craft Brew Festival: 4:30-7:30 p.m., Dan O'Brien Track and Field Complex
  • Serpentine: 8 p.m., Vandal Golf Course
  • Vandal Rally: 8:30 p.m., P1FCU Kibbie Dome parking lot
  • ICCU Homecoming Fireworks Show: 9 p.m., P1FCU Kibbie Dome parking lot

Saturday, Oct. 11

  • Homecoming Parade: 10 a.m., downtown Moscow
  • Vandal Village tailgate and pre-game celebration: 11 a.m., ICCU Arena Plaza
  • Vandal Football game vs. Northern Colorado: 2 p.m., P1FCU Kibbie Dome

This year’s Homecoming Parade grand marshals are Vandal alumni Bill Kearns ’81 and Clint Marshall ’97, recognized for their leadership as co-chairs of the university’s Brave. Bold. Unstoppable. philanthropic campaign. Their guidance helped U of I break a campaign milestone of $500 million eight months early. To date, the campaign — the largest fundraising effort in state history — has raised $520 million and it continues through Dec. 31.

“I’m incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication our Homecoming Committee has put into bringing this year’s celebration to life,” Homecoming Committee President Braydyn Proctor said. “What makes University of Idaho Homecoming so special is that it’s completely student-led, and our team has embraced that tradition with energy and creativity. We can’t wait to share this week with the Vandal Family and create opportunities for everyone to reconnect with what makes being a Vandal so special.”
