Vandals give back on Giving Tuesday, Dec. 2
Vandal donors help fuel student success and strengthen University of Idaho programs through day of generosity
December 1, 2025
MOSCOW, Idaho — Members of the Vandal Family can make an impact for University of Idaho during Giving Tuesday, Dec. 2. This annual worldwide event focuses on philanthropy and altruism by encouraging people to support the causes that matter most to them.
Since 1889, University of Idaho has been a driving force for progress by shaping leaders, fueling innovation and enriching communities across Idaho, the Northwest and beyond. This Giving Tuesday, Dec. 2, Vandals and friends can continue that legacy by supporting students and the programs that matter to them.
“At U of I, we see every day how private support strengthens our community,” Vice Provost and Dean of Student Affairs Blaine Eckles said. “Donor gifts are the reason we can provide meals from the Vandal Food Pantry, small grants for emergencies and scholarships that allow students to stay enrolled. The generosity of the Vandal Family demonstrates that Vandals take care of one another.”
Giving Tuesday started as a hashtag in 2012 to promote generosity following two of the largest shopping days of the year, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Since then, Giving Tuesday has grown into a global event that encourages people to give back to their communities and to the world at large. During Giving Tuesday 2024, an estimated $3.6 billion was donated to U.S. charities and other nonprofit organizations.
