Student Cody Harrison is pictured at the University of Idaho College of Law in Boise on Monday, March 23, 2026. He is graduating this spring and plans to leverage his naval military background and expertise in nuclear energy to pursue a career in the emerging field of nuclear regulatory law. U of I presents ‘Amélie,’ the musical, beginning Oct. 26

Production is based on popular 2001 French movie and will feature seven performances.

MOSCOW, Idaho — University of Idaho will open its seven-show production of “Amélie,” the musical, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Hartung Theater, 625 Stadium Drive, Moscow.

Additional show dates and times:

  • 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27
  • 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28
  • 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29
  • 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 3
  • 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 4
  • 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5

Co-produced by the U of I Department of Theatre Arts and the Lionel Hampton School of Music (LHSOM), “Amélie” is based on the popular 2001 French movie about a quirky young woman who changes her world for the better. The show contains some mature themes, such as adult language and sexual content.

Director Craig A. Miller describes the play as an example of “reckless grace and radical empathy. The power of random acts of kindness. All the truly positive ways we can change the world.”

Vern Sielert from LHSOM serves as orchestra conductor and LHSOM alumnus Christian Reed serves as music director.

Tickets are free for U of I students and $5 to $25 for the general public. They are available online at uitickets.com or at the door an hour before the show begins.
