Emergency Scholarship

The U of I LGBTQA Office has established a fund intended to help support current University of Idaho LGBTQ students who have lost or are facing the loss of financial support from their parents or family when they make the courageous decision to disclose sexual orientation or gender identity to their families.

These students find themselves in dire need of funds and support in order to reach their educational goals. The Emergency Scholarship helps ensure students need not choose between education at U of I and living life openly and honestly.

Emergency Scholarship applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Applications are being accepted at this time.

Before applying for this scholarship, students should contact Financial Aid to determine what other aid options are available.

After contacting financial aid, students should contact LGBTQA Office staff to discuss their individual situations. Selection is determined by a committee comprised of no fewer than three staff/faculty from across campus.
