Master the Midterms
Master the Midterms is a week of free snacks, information, workshops and prizes designed to help you master your midterms! Support staff from across campus will be at different events to let you know about what support their programs can offer.
The event occurs during Week Five of classes, September 23-27. This is a good time to find support on campus so you're ready for success on your midterms and the rest of the semester!

We will be out all week to provide you with information about all the great resources on campus to help you study for midterms. Stop by any time to ask questions or just grab a free snack!

The Academic Coaches from U of I Tutoring & College Success have two presentations to help you getcha' head in the game!
Looking for an energetic, yet brief, overview of college success strategies? Look no further! C.R.A.M. is full of quick tips and techniques that students have historically found fundamental for improving their academic performance:

- Visualizing a schedule
- Connecting with campus resources
- Breathing through stress
Test-Taking and Study Skills
Exams and quizzes are a reality of the college experience. Through this presentation, students will learn how to approach tests with confidence by developing effective, efficient, and adaptable study skills. Academic Coaches will provide customize-able techniques to prepare for tests, manage anxiety, answer a variety of question types, and develop post-exam tips that will improve future performance.

Date: Wednesday, Sept. 25, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
This workshop provides general tips for successfully working with outside sources and addresses specific questions about projects you're working on now. During the first half of the session, librarians will cover locating formatted citations, creating citations, and organizing references to make creating Works Cited and References pages easy; Writing Center tutors will provide tools for using direct quotes and paraphrasing, and for incorporating citations into your papers. The second half of the session will have librarians and tutors on hand for short consultations about your specific projects and questions.

Try this novel mini-golf course! Putt your way through the U of I Library, under the graphic novels, between the movable shelves, and around the magazines. Visit the map room, where you can putt your way across the world! Take a “shelfie” as you “master” the Library of Congress organization system by putting between the books. The final hole is as challenging as returning your books on time! Enter your scorecard at the end of the course to be entered to win one of several prizes!

The APMs will have different stations that will cover various study tips and tricks, reading notes, scheduling study groups, going over resources that students can utilize and more! Get study tips, ticks, and support resources!
