Safety Training for Swim Coaches

Cost: $100 for course registration. Additional costs are $37 payment to American Red Cross at the time of the on-line portion of the course opens. The instructor will email you the link.
This course helps to fulfill the Coaches Safety Education requirement for USA Swimming and Y USA with a-2 year certification.
Prerequisites: Must be at least 15 years of age by the end of the course and must be comfortable in chest-deep water
The Safety Training for Swim Coaches course offers up-to-date content on safe sport policies, emergency planning and first aid, including:
- Maintaining a comfortable and safe environment for swimmers
- Preventing accidents and emergencies
- Responding to ill or injured swimmers in water or on land
This course includes both an online portion and an in-water skills session. To determine whether you need to complete both parts, please below for requirements based on current certification status: New coaches or those with expired certifications will need the 3 hours of online-course and 3 hour In-water Skills Session.
Coaches with current Safety Training for Swim Coaches will need the 3 hours of online-course and 50 minute In-water Skills Session.
Coaches with current Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED* will need the 3 hours of online-course and not required to participate in the In-water Skills Session.
Coaches with current Shallow Water Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED* will need the 3 hours of online-course and not required to participate in the In-water Skills Session.
