Parent To-Do List

Congratulations on your student’s acceptance to the University of Idaho! This is an exciting time for your family. The below information and resources for Vandal parents will help make the transition to college life a positive experience for both you and your son or daughter.

  • 1. Make sure your student has health insurance

The Idaho State Board of Education requires all students to have health insurance. Students can remain on their existing qualifying insurance plans or purchase coverage through the University of Idaho Student Health Insurance Program (SHIP).
Make sure your student either has the UI insurance or they have a plan under you. If they have a plan under you, make sure your student fills out a SHIP Health Waiver
