Jim Fredericks: "The importance and challenges of retaining a population level perspective in managing fish and wildlife"

December 8th
11:30-12:20pm
College of Natural Resources Room 10

Jim Fredericks, Chief of Fisheries Bureau, Idaho Department of Fish and Game

Jim has a B.A. in Psychology (1988) and an M.S. in Fishery Resources (1994) from the University of Idaho. He joined the Idaho Department of Fish and Game in 1994, where he’s served as a Research Biologist, a Regional (management) Biologist, a Regional Fishery Manager, and now the Chief of Fisheries. He’s been fortunate to work in the Panhandle and the Upper Snake regions, where he had the opportunity to play a role in managing some of the nation’s most prominent fisheries. He thoroughly enjoys the tremendous diversity of fish species and public stakeholders he’s been able to work with. Jim served as President of the Idaho Chapter of the American Fisheries Society (AFS) and is currently the President-Elect of the Fisheries Administration Section of AFS.
