Jeff Copeland: “Social ethology of the wolverine”

Jeff Copeland received his B.S. (1979) and M.S. (1996) from the University of Idaho.  He spent 23 years with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game as a Conservation Officer, Regional Biologist, and Research Biologist.  Jeff has been involved in wolverine research for over 25 years, most currently as a Research Ecologist for the Forest Service’s Rocky Mountain Research Station in Missoula, Montana, prior to retirement in 2010.  He has led efforts to develop wolverine detection methodology, and wolverine ecology studies in Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana, including Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks, and participated in research in Canada, Alaska, Scandinavia, and Mongolia.  Jeff’s work is widely published in peer-reviewed journals and popular articles, and has been featured in the Discovery, Animal Planet, and PBS Nature television series. Jeff is a founding Director and currently on the Board of Directors for The Wolverine Foundation. More info here.
