The award is split over 2 years with a maximum amount of $12,000 in a given year. Scholarship funds are to be used for tuition, fees, and books only, although room and board can be included if the student is required to live away from his/her primary residence. Recipients will also attend a 4 week summer institute in Washington D.C. with expenses being covered from the $24,000 scholarship amount. This award is open to graduating seniors and will fund a Master of Education, Master of Arts in Teaching, or a Master of Arts in American history or political science.
