Bridge@UofI serves as the university's employee management system (LMS). It runs on Bridge LMS software, enabling employees to easily sign up for courses, keep tabs on their compliance training and take charge of their employee development. Plus, supervisors can now monitor how their team members progress in their learning journeys.

Please note there are separate logins depending on employee type, Board Appointed Faculty or Staff or Student/Temporary Help (IH/TH).

As we move towards fully adopting Bridge@UofI, we will keep this webpage up to date with more user guides, FAQs and useful resources.

Our initial rollout of the new system in Fall 2023 will include two user roles, Learner and Manager, and a limited learning catalog. We look forward to adding additional roles and learning opportunities in the coming months.

Available User Roles and Tasks

  • Learner: Complete assigned learning and view transcript.
  • Manager: View employee learning progress and run standard reports.

FAQ

General

Yes! EDL will provide resources and guides to help you get comfortable with your role in the new system. Stay tuned for details and thank you in advance for your patience as we prepare everything for you!

Bridge@UofI will replace GoSignMeUp. In addition, we will no longer use Canvas to deploy university-required employee training.

We understand that change can be challenging, and we appreciate your patience and understanding. Our goal is to create a better learning experience for all employees, and we believe this updated system is necessary to achieve that.

Bridge supports the current and first previous major releases of the following browsers:

Notes:

  • Internet Explorer compatibility mode is not supported in Bridge.
  • For Bridge to work properly while using protected mode in Internet Explorer, cookies need to be enabled and Bridge needs to be added as a trusted site.

View the Bridge browser guide to learn more about supported browsers, including Bridge on mobile devices.

Bridge on Mobile Devices

Bridge is optimized for desktop displays and provides limited support on mobile devices. Bridge performs best in a mobile device's native browser and on devices that have a minimum screen size of 1024px.

Not all features may be supported on mobile devices for all user roles. However, Bridge offers limited support for native mobile browsers on mobile devices. For additional details, please reference the limited-support mobile browser guidelines.

Navigation

Log in to your Bridge@UofI Dashboard and see what REQUIRED is and what is COMPLETED.

Journeys are learning paths consisting of Programs and other learning items. University training content creators are still learning about Journeys, so no Journeys have yet been assigned to you.

In Bridge@UofI speak, enrolled in a Live Training means that you have been added to the Learner list, but you have not yet registered in a specific, dated session. Enrolled in a Course or Program means you are ready to start or continue that learning item (Courses and Programs do not have a registered status).

Accessing My Learning Transcripts and Learning Resources

On your My Learning dashboard, look in the upper right for EXPORT TRANSCRIPT. Click that button and expand/sort the .csv to reflect the results you want to show.

Underneath the EXPORT TRANSCRIPT button, switch your default Grid View to List View. Under your COMPLETED section you will see paper clip icons you can click to access your class attachments.

To see your class attachments, look on your My Learning Dashboard underneath the EXPORT TRANSCRIPT button and switch your Grid View to a List View. Scroll down to your COMPLETED section and click each paper clip icon to the right of each training title to access your attachments.

My Learning has added an EXPORT TRANSCRIPT feature on your My Learning dashboard. Look in the upper right for EXPORT TRANSCRIPT. Click that button and expand/sort the .csv to reflect the results you want to show.

Live Training

Log in to your BridgeUofI account. From your My Learning Dashboard, click and enter the Learning Library.

You will see learning items represented as training cards, or tiles, in a variety of category headings as you scroll up and down. Here is an example category. Within a category, you can scroll the available cards and/or click VIEW ALL:

In the “Sort By” drop-down, select “Title A – Z” for the most sensible training order within the categories. If you are looking for a training that was recently added, try sorting by “Date Added.”

Training cards, or tiles, display the learning item titles. You may enroll for Live Trainings, Courses and Programs by hovering on the training card, clicking ENROLL (Course, Programs) or VIEW SESSIONS (Live Trainings), and following the prompts. For Live Trainings, you will then REGISTER for a specific session.

Programs also offer a “Preview” option so you can look over the Program carefully before enrolling.

Regardless of what you choose, you will receive a Registration/Enrollment Confirmation email. If your session is Live Training, the email will include an .ics calendar attachment—please set your Outlook calendar reminder from this email! (See further instructions below).

Log in to your Bridge@UofI account. Click and enter the Training Calendar.

Search by the date you are free to take training or the date of a specific offering. Click on the oval with your desired class session. This pops up information about the session. You can register here for this session.

When you receive your Live Training confirmation email, you will see an attachment called session.ics.

Click on that and open it to make your desired Outlook calendar adjustments to this appointment and click Save & Close. The class should now appear on your Outlook calendar and will remind you of class date/time/location.

Find the class from which you want to unregister on your My Learning Dashboard. Click RESCHEDULE and/or UNREGISTER.

No. You may either register for a Live Training session that is not full or join a waitlist for a session that is full.

Yes. If you are on a waitlist for a Live Training, please watch your email up until the time that the session begins. VERY IMPORTANT: if you can no longer attend, please unregister from the waitlist or main session to allow the next person on the waitlist to have a chance. Just click RESCHEDULE or UNREGISTER next to the training title on your My Learning dashboard.

Supervisor

EDL has identified a glitch that prevents supervisors from being able to view the training status of their direct report IH/TH, work-study and graduate student employees. We are working with OIT to fix the glitch – and in the interim are establishing a plan to fill the information gap.

Beginning Friday, October 6, supervisors of IH/TH, work-study and graduate student employees in your college/admin area will receive an email from Bridge@UofI. A custom report, summarizing only IH/TH, work-study and graduate student employees in your specific college/admin area will be attached. Supervisors may verify their employee’s training status by viewing the report. This report will be sent each Friday until our system issue is resolved. Please note: Some employees have multiple jobs on campus. Only the supervisor of the “primary job” as listed in Banner will receive the update on an IH/TH, work-study or graduate student employee’s training completion status. If you have questions or need additional assistance, you may submit a ticket. Thank you!
