What Is the Student Wellness Program (SWP)?

  • BPA Health, Inc. (BPA Health) offers Student Wellness Program (SWP) services to students enrolled at the University of Idaho.
  • All services are free to all U of I enrolled students for three months from Feb. 1, 2023, through April 30, 2023.
  • All services are confidential.
  • Quick and easy access – a first appointment typically occurs within 48 hours.
  • Different choices to meet face to face, text, phone or video.
  • Short-term, problem-focused solutions

What is the Relationship between the BPA and the U of I?

BPA Health is endorsed by the University of Idaho as a potential resource for students seeking a range of support services, including mental health.

What is the BPA responsible for?

  • BPA Health “will maintain a network of providers and will process claims related to SWP services” (from the Memorandum of Understanding between BPA Health, Inc and the University of Idaho).
  • BPA Health is “funded through Blue Cross of Idaho”.
  • BPA Health will bill invoices to the Blue Cross of Idaho directly.

What Counseling Services does the SWP Provide?

  • Up to 5-free sessions per student per incident per plan year
  • Counseling is provided by licensed mental health providers.
  • Confidential
  • In-person, text, phone, or secure video conference formats
  • Short-term, problem-focused solutions
  • 24/7 Crisis Line (833-935-3816)
