Designed especially for instrumentalists and singers between 8th and 12th grades.

After reading the information below, click on the Register Now button to access the registration form. At the end of the form, you will be provided with a link to the UI payment platform to pay your initial registration deposit.

Overnight campers

Students who need overnight accommodations will pay the room and board fee in addition to tuition. Students must be entering 9th grade in the fall to stay in university housing for this camp. Please see below for the pricing, payment process, timeline, and an overview of what your payment includes. Click on the Housing & Travel tab from the menu for a description of the housing and dining plan.

Day campers

If a student lives close enough to the University of Idaho to commute daily to campus, they may choose to only pay Tuition and not Room and Board. Please see below for the pricing, payment process, timeline, and an overview of what your payment includes. Note that the Day Camper pricing DOES include both lunch and dinner during camp. Students must be entering 8th grade in the fall to register as a day camper.

Costs explanation

  • The faculty of the Lionel Hampton School of Music offer this camp as a way to help promising young musicians explore making music. We operate this at no profit, so our pricing is set only to help us cover costs. Many faculty members even donate their time to help us make ends meet.
  • We are offering world-class instruction, musical performances, meals, and facilities for the absolute lowest price that we can, and even then, we understand that the price of the camp can be burdensome for many. We do our best to help with scholarship funding when available, but these funds are always limited.
  • For reference, at our current rates, our day campers are paying an hourly rate of $4.93, which includes lunch and dinner. Our overnight campers are paying an hourly rate of $5.10, and that adds a third meal as well as overnight accommodations and supervision.
