The University of Idaho Confucius institute opened its first satellite office in Boise, Idaho in the spring of 2016. The U of I Confucius Institute currently has three full-time faculty appointed to the Idaho Water Center, providing Mandarin language and Chinese culture classes to the Treasure Valley. Mrs. Betsy Wang is participating in a teacher exchange at the Boise School District, where she offers an "Exploring Mandarin Language and Culture Class." Ms. Li Huitong leads community language and culture classes at the Idaho Water Center. Mr. Guowang Luo offers martial arts courses, including Tai Chi during lunch at the Idaho Water Center and other martial arts courses through Boise Community Education. .
