Despite social distancing restrictions, Vandal undergraduates embraced opportunities beyond the classroom where they could make a difference during the 2020-21 school term. They picked up pipettes and dance shoes, tree cores and computers to solve practical problems with local and global effects. Working with U of I faculty, two-thirds of undergraduates at University of Idaho volunteer for out-of-class research, scholarly work and creative activities. The stories from Vandals in Focus 2021 provide a glimpse of the research experiences available to our undergraduates.
