80.22 - University Support Services - Auxiliary Services

Preamble: Part of Auxiliary Services, University Support Services (USS) is tasked with the stewardship of the ASUI - Kibbie Dome along with administration of the Memorial Gym and UI Swim Center. We are also responsible for operating the UI Ticket Office, Campus Events and the Equipment Rental program.

A. General. The ASUI Kibbie Dome is a year-round multi-purpose facility that is designed to accommodate a variety of structured and/or unstructured activities. These activities include instructional, athletic, recreational, and special event usage by university and non-university personnel.

The facility is available for use by university (with purchased university ID) and non-university personnel (with facility pass). Facility information is available at (208) 885-6394. For hours of operation please check the USS web site.

B. Facility/Services Request. Major events and activities must be scheduled and approved by the ASUI Kibbie Dome manager in the Kibbie Dome Office, Room 107, MS 2307, or by phone (208) 885-7353.

B-1. Facility/Services Request Form. These forms are available from the ASUI Kibbie Dome Office, Room 107, MS 2307 or Facility and Space Reservation website. (Note: To ensure adequate service, please submit the application at least 30 calendar days in advance of the event.) If the ASUI Kibbie Dome is available, a contract will be formalized between the interested group and the ASUI Kibbie Dome manager.

C. Instructional Use Information. The scheduling of classes offered by the university is coordinated between the offices of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance Division (HPERD) and ASUI Kibbie Dome. Those people interested in offering other types of instructional classes must submit a written proposal to the ASUI Kibbie Dome Office.

D. Athletic Use Information. The scheduling of intercollegiate athletic activities is coordinated between the Idaho Athletic Department and the Auxiliary Services/USS. (Note: Non-university groups wanting to schedule athletic contests must submit a written proposal or Facility/Services Request Form as noted in B-1 above.)

F. Racquetball Court Use. All recreational racquetball users must check-in with the facility attendant. All users should be prepared to present to the attendant their valid Vandal Card or Recreation Pass. Users should keep their card with them at all times while using either the ASUI Kibbie Dome or Memorial Gym.

G. USS Kibbie/Memorial Gym Recreation Pass. The ASUI Kibbie Dome and Memorial Gym are open to all students, faculty, staff and retirees for recreational uses with a valid U of I Vandal ID card.

For community members who would like to use the facilities, you may purchase a pass online at University of Idaho Marketplace or at the U of I Ticket Office.

H. Locker Service. Any student with a valid U of I Student ID card is entitled to a free locker in the ASUI Kibbie Dome or Memorial Gym while supplies last. You must go to the attendant’s office with your valid ID card, in the building you wish to obtain a locker and fill out the paper work. For Faculty/Staff and community members who wish to have a locker in the ASUI Kibbie Dome or Memorial Gym there is a charge of $50/year. Each person assigned a locker will be issued a lock and a towel. Towels may be exchanged at the attendant’s office. Locker payments may be made online at the University of Idaho Marketplace or at the UI Ticket Office in the ASUI Kibbie Dome.

I. Swim Center. The Swim Center is located between the Memorial Gym Building and Physical Education Building on Rayburn Street. The pool is available for lap swim, open recreation swim, classes and private rentals.

Lap swim and open swim times are free to faculty, staff and students. Everyone else may purchase single-visit passes or long term memberships. Single-visit passes are available at the Swim Center Cage during open swim hours or the Memorial Gym Cage for lap swim. Swim Center memberships include access to the Swim Center, Memorial Gym. Open Swim is open for all ages. Children under 9 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Access to the Memorial Gym is limited to individuals at least 18 years old.

To reserve the Swim Center for your special event, please contact the ASUI Kibbie Dome Scheduling Office (208) 885-7353. To best accommodate your reservation request, please submit 30 days in advance.

J. UI Ticket Office. The UI Ticket Office sells tickets and distributes event information for UI Events including Jazz Festival, Theater, Dance Chamber Music, Athletics, and other campus activities. The UI Ticket Office also sells tickets for various nonprofit community events and maintains a reader board of current events. The UI Ticket Office serves as a Tickets West outlet.

J-1. UI Ticket Office Check Cashing and Payment Policy. The following policies apply to the check cashing and payment for students/faculty/staff:

  • Checks must be for exact amount of payment
  • Makes checks payable to UI Ticket Office
  • Local addresses are required on all checks
  • A $20.00 service charge is assessed for all returned checks
  • No paychecks cashed
  • U.S. Funds only

J-2. Allowable Charge Cards. The UI Ticket Office will accept payments via approved charge cards. Cards accepted for payments include Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. The UI Ticket Office also accepts UI Debit Cards and UI IDGs. Customers may order UI event tickets over the phone via credit cards at an additional charge.

J-3. Other UI Ticket Office Policies. The following policies apply to ticket sales at the UI Ticket Office:

  • Students must present a current UI student ID to purchase student-priced tickets
  • No refunds or exchanges
  • Tickets must be paid for at the time of ordering
  • A $3.00 per order handling fee is charged for phone orders

J-4. Process for Contracting UI Ticket Office Services. The following policies and procedures apply to contracting the services of the UI Ticket Office:

  • Contracting agents must be UI departments, UI affiliated, UI students or approved nonprofit organizations
  • Contracting agents must submit a UI Ticket Office work order form 2 weeks prior to an event
  • Idaho State sales tax must be paid on ticket proceeds generated by the UI Ticket Office [Note: Sales Tax will automatically be withheld.]
  • UI Ticket Office standard per ticket fees apply. In addition contracting agents are responsible for all related labor costs on the date of the event.
  • UI Ticket Office reserves the right to refuse ticketing services to any contracting agent

J-5. Information. Any questions regarding tickets or information on ticketed events should be addressed to the UI Ticket Office, at (208) 885-7212.

K. Event Services. Campus Event Services is a fee based service available to the campus community to consult, plan and carry out a wide array of events and activities. Particular priority is given to Presidential and UI "Signature" events.

L. University Auditorium. USS is tasked with being the primary scheduler of the University Auditorium facility. The University Auditorium is available for use year-round to on and off-campus personnel and organizations. University courses and programs receive priority scheduling for the facility. Seating in the Auditorium is 437. Sound and lighting systems are available in the facility. Campus Event Services handles all set-up and strike of the stage and surrounding areas in the Auditorium. N. USS Equipment Rental. USS makes event related equipment (i.e.: tables, chairs, canopies, podiums, basic sound systems, etc.) available for rental. Call the Equipment Rental Office at:  885-7929 or email: rental office email.
