From the Dean
Welcome to the University of Idaho College of Law
For more than a century, the University of Idaho College of Law in Moscow, Idaho, has prepared state and national leaders in law, business and public service. Whether you wish to pursue a career in private practice, the judiciary, government, business, education or public interest, the academic programs we provide will prepare you for success anywhere in the country or world. In addition, we have emerged as one of the best educational values in the nation, being repeatedly named a Best Value Law School by "preLaw Magazine."
Established in 1909, and accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) since 1925, the UI College of Law continues to grow and work toward its goal of providing opportunities for future lawyers. Most recently, we added a new physical presence at our Boise location: the Idaho Law and Justice Learning Center (ILJLC) located between the Idaho State Capitol and Idaho Supreme Court in the historic and newly renovated Ada County Courthouse. The ILJLC is now home to our second- and third-year law students who wish to live in Boise. Starting fall 2017, I am proud to say that we will add first-year students to that location.
The ILJLC will provide law-related civic education programs to students, educators and the public. The proximity to governmental seats of power and the operation of the Idaho State Law Library out of the ILJLC will ensure expanded networking opportunities for students with experienced judges, attorneys, and government officials. In addition to the high-tech classrooms, there are live client clinics and student study areas. The third floor will house faculty offices, and every room has multiple high-definition displays. All of this will greatly enhance the distance learning opportunities for students on the Moscow and Boise campuses.
The University of Idaho College of Law has a statewide mission to provide an outstanding legal education program where all students benefit from the rigorous curriculum, six clinics, numerous externship opportunities, four areas of emphasis, a pro bono program, extensive career resources and our friendly Idaho communities. Fulfilling that mission at our main campus in Moscow and at the new facility in Boise only makes the value of your degree stronger.
