2025 USGS 104(g) — estimated date late May 2025
The National Institutes for Water Resources (NIWR) and U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) award grants annually under the USGS Section 104(g) Competitive Grants program. Any investigator at an institution of higher learning is eligible to apply for these grants with research that focuses on priorities of regional and national importance.

USGS 104g will need to be submitted in cooperation with IWRRI, through the University of Idaho. Proposals will be due to IWRRI two weeks before the National due date to ensure budgets and materials are complete. Please send an email to mawolf@uidaho.edu if you intend to pursue a 104(g) submission by March 4.

If either USGS 104b or USGS 104b proposal is intended to use UAS/Drones, please verify compliance with the following memorandum and include assessment guide with application materials.
