Thursday, May 9

Lavender Lunch

Take a break and enjoy a free lunch at the Student Diversity Center in the Idaho Commons. This is a great opportunity to meet new people and talk about current events. Enjoy a free peanut butter and jelly sandwich lunch. This event is open to the public.

IBEST Lunch – End of Semester Luncheon

12:30 p.m.

The Institute for Bioinformatics and Evolutionary Studies (IBEST) is an interdisciplinary research group at the University of Idaho focused on understanding the patterns and processes of evolution that occur over comparatively short periods of time. The hallmarks of IBEST research are the coupling of empirical and theoretical research, and a strong orientation toward rigorous testing of hypotheses. We place a high value on interdisciplinary collaborations that blend the expertise of biologists, biochemists, ecologists, evolutionary biologists, mathematicians, statisticians and computer scientists to examine the underpinnings of evolutionary biology. Food will be provided.

Dissertation Defense: Bryan Bandli

Bryan Bandli, doctoral candidate in geology, will defend his dissertation entitled, "Application of EBSD to Analytical Challenges of Asbestiform Minerals." This event is free and open to the public.

Alumni Hall of Fame
Idaho Commons, Horizon Room

Alumni will be inducted and recognized into the University of Idaho Alumni Hall of Fame.
