College of Natural Resources Professor to Give Opening Address at Lebanon Workshop

Anthony S. Davis, assistant professor and director of the Center for Seedling Research and Forest Nursery, was invited to deliver the opening address entitled, “Producing Target Seedlings to Optimize Outplanting Success” and facilitate the first gathering of native tree nursery growers in Lebanon Nov. 15-17. Davis and his nursery team been working with nurseries, restoration and reforestation professionals, and researchers in Lebanon to transform the way seedlings are grown in nurseries in an effort to improve successful establishment following planting. This is a critical step in a heavily deforested, arid region that is actively working to cease desertification.
