Vandal Brand Meats, Local Processing Topic of Discussion Dec. 11

MOSCOW, Idaho — DEC. 9, 2019 — Vandal Brand Meats on the University of Idaho campus provides a laboratory for researchers, classroom for students and industry, and processing plant for small-scale livestock producers.

A discussion at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 11, will focus on the role and goals for Vandal Brand Meats. Michael Parrella, U of I College of Agricultural and Life Sciences dean, will lead the session at Moscow’s Hunga Dunga Brewing Co. Admission is free, but the beer is not.

The Wednesday discussion will begin with a social at 5:30, followed by a one-hour presentation at 6 p.m. The program is sponsored by UI Extension, Rural Roots and Hunga Dunga, 333 N. Jackson in Moscow.

The college is raising funds for a new Agri Beef Meat Science and Innovation Center Honoring Ron Richard to modernize and expand its education, research and outreach capacity. The new center will be across Perimeter Drive from the ASUI-Kibbie Activity Center parking lot.
