Community Outreach Coordinator Upward Bound Benewah and Latah Counties

Located in Plummer, ID, the Community Outreach Coordinator for Upward Bound – Benewah & Latah County works with the project director to coordinate service delivery, manage recruitment, organize community outreach efforts, and implement evaluation strategies for a University of Idaho sponsored educational opportunity project which provides services to assist underserved populations in completing purposeful secondary schooling, enrolling in, and succeeding in programs of post-secondary education. Major responsibilities include: Promotion of services to target community; providing information on post-secondary and career choice options; providing academic and financial aid assistance to eligible participants wishing to pursue a program of postsecondary education; and documenting and evaluating project services.

Specific to the UBBL program: This position requires a strong background in working with people from various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. This program actively works implement a Trauma-Informed approach to student service in support of promoting self-efficacy and resilience in project participants. Additionally, the successful candidate will have experience working with and/or knowledge of issues that impact indigenous communities.
