Outdoor Storage Is Being Cleaned Out, Reorganized

February 04, 2021

Facilities maintains an outdoor storage lot behind the main Facilities building which has been used for additional storage by departments across campus. To document items and clean up this lot, Facilities will surplus items which are no longer claimed or needed by departments. In addition, they will be implementing a monthly storage fee to encourage management of the items stored there and to maintain the space. If continued storage is not needed for items in this lot, items will need to be removed by Thursday, April 1.

Surplus can assist departments with processing surplus requests through the university surplus system. Items left in the outdoor storage lot and/or which have not been identified by departments for continued storage or surplus by April 1 will be considered abandoned and processed through the university surplus system to be either sold on public auction or taken to scrap.

To implement this reorganization, the gates to the storage lot will now be locked at all times, with access limited to facilities. To access your items during this clean-up period, contact Facilities to schedule an appointment. They will work with you to document your items and talk about the next steps to cleaning up your space, removing unwanted items and planning for future storage needs. To access your stored items, set up a storage account and to get information on storage pricing to be effective Thursday, July 1, contact Jeremy Mutart at 208-885-1714 or jmutart@uidaho.edu.
