The Research and Faculty Development team has announced the U of I National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Proposal Conversation Group for individuals working on — or planning — an NSF CAREER proposal. The group will help keep individuals on track with proposal development; allow participants to ask questions and brainstorm ideas, issues and solutions with peers and the team; and access proposal development resources and guides.
Six one-hour Zoom conversations with peers will be held, facilitated by Research and Faculty Development. Each conversation will begin with one of the topics below, followed by 40 minutes of open discussion and questions:
- Getting started: tasks/timeline, contacting your PO, Department Head letter;
- Education plan: integration of education and research;
- Broader impacts;
- Writing the overview: examining effectiveness of the first sentence/page;
- Writing the project summary;
- Polishing your proposal.
Sessions will be 12:30-1:30 p.m. on May 6, May 20, June 3, June 17, July 1 and July 15.
