December 17, 2020
A university-wide Events Council is being created and will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, in the Bruce M. Pitman Center International Ballroom. The group is focused on serving the U of I community via: sharing event resources and best practices; providing onboarding and training; matching experienced people on campus as mentors to new staff; and unifying or streamlining the events processes to collaborate effectively and efficiently to execute and deliver experiences for the community served. Register online.
Who should attend?
- Colleagues who interact at a minimum level with one event or meeting per year,
- Colleagues who plan events year-round and it’s a significant portion of their job description,
- A novice to the event, conference and meeting world who wants to learn more and
- Well-seasoned event professionals.
A Zoom link will be published on Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, to all registered attendees.
All will benefit by participating in this initiative, and the feedback and input from all experience levels, including from locations in Coeur d’Alene, Boise and Idaho Falls, are welcome. Several topics will be discussed and acted upon at the meeting. Email Christine Wallace for more information.
