Grand Challenge Scholars Program Featured at Next IRIC Lunch and Learn Event

At the next IRIC Lunch and Learn event at noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, in the IRIC Atrium, Isabell Strawn and Jake Varney, undergraduate students in the Department of Biological Engineering, will discuss the Grand Challenge Scholars Program. This program combines curricular and extra-curricular activities that expose students to the grand challenges that society faces.
In their talk, they will discuss the multiple facets of this program, including undergraduate research, service learning and global perspectives as well as how students interface with the Grand Challenge Scholars Program to reach their goals.
Students and faculty in any discipline and others interested in learning more are encouraged to attend. IRIC Lunch and Learn presentations allow students, faculty and staff to share and cross-pollinate ideas in a fun and informal lunchtime setting. Free drinks and snacks are also provided.
