Facilities Implements New Work Order Management System
June 22, 2018
Facilities is implementing a new work order management system on July 1 called FAMIS Cloud. We currently use an older version of this system to track our work in Facilities and will be moving to the cloud version this summer as support for the old version is ending.
A benefit of this new system is an electronic work request process that campus employees can use to request work from Facilities, whether it be general service needs, billable work requests or major project work.
Included in this change is the process to request keys for departmental users. SAM Online through VandalWeb will not be used after July 1, but instead, the FAMIS Cloud work request system will be the process used for requesting key copies (this does not change how card access is requested or for Housing residents).
Access to FAMIS Cloud will be through the ITS Tech Support Portal, similar to how you access Banner. The link is http://banner.uidaho.edu . Once on this page, scroll down until you see "Facilities Applications" and select FAMIS Cloud. Below this link is another link, this one is to the Work Request How To document that will guide you through the process to submit requests to us. These links will not be available until the first of July. Although we encourage use of this online system, any emergency situation, such as water running where it shouldn't be, should still be called in to our service line at 885-6246. If you have any questions about this upcoming change, please contact us at email@example.com
