Contacting Human Resources

The Human Resources department supports the overall vision, goals and objectives of the University of Idaho by providing a wide variety of personnel services. Specifically, through the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, processes, and programs, including the recruitment, development, and retention of a competent, diverse, and talented professional, academic, and support personnel population.

The Department of Human Resources is comprised of an administrative office and three organizational units.

    Greg provides leadership in advancing the University’s strategic plan and giving managers the tools they need to attract, develop and retain a highly committed workforce. He provides guidance, oversees or actively manages employment services, benefit services, performance management, employee relations, classification and compensation, employment-related legal and risk management and professional development and learning.

    Brandi provides direction, management and leadership to the HR functional areas and directly supervises or oversees Employment Services, Benefit Services and the front office staff. She acts as a liaison between HR and external constituencies to facilitate communication and to ensure the coordination of HR programs and services.  Brandi is also responsible for the planning, implementing, and administering of the University’s comprehensive medical, dental, life, disability, leave and other benefit programs.

    Mandy coordinates and oversees front office customer service functions and also performs administrative tasks that support the operations of the Human Resources department. She oversees I9 compliance and employee personnel and benefit records retention. She also performs tasks that aid customers University-wide, including PCN creation/maintenance, supervisor set-ups and campus directory modification access.

    The HR Assistant serves as the main front-end contact for the Human Resources department, providing customer service by phone, email, and in person. They verify and process I9s, assemble employee personnel files, update Banner with employee information, update and grant modification access to the campus directory, serve as a liaison to the Benefits and Payroll teams, and provide overall administrative support to the department.

    The Business Partners provide generalist services (with specialist expertise) in a variety of HR areas and serve as the primary contact for their assigned colleges and departments.  The primary areas of service and expertise are:

    Staff Position Classification including reclassifications, desk audits and FLSA classifications.

    Staff Compensation

    Recruitment and Selection including recruiting and souring candidates, helping search panel success, troubleshooting problems, legal and policy advice and interpretation.  The Business Partners will be the primary contact and trainer for PeopleAdmin until further notice.

    Performance Management including setting expectations, PDP’s, corrective actions and process and risk management related to primarily staff performance management.

    Americans with Disabilities Act reasonable accommodation requests for faculty and staff.

    Organizational restructuring, orientations, supervisor/management training, onboarding and separation of staff, equal employment opportunity and complaint investigations.

    Myung processes Board Appointed and Student/Temporary Electronic Personnel Action Forms (EPAFS) and provides customer service on the EPAF process by phone, email and in person. She trains departmental users in HR Query and EPAF processes. She updates the Banner system and ensures compliance with applicable laws at the state and federal level.

    Theresa facilitates the entire recruitment process within PeopleAdmin. She works closely with department affirmative action coordinators and hiring managers to guide them through the recruitment process for faculty, staff and temporary postings. She answers questions regarding Employment Services, PeopleAdmin and employment at the University.

    Shelby coordinates the background check process for prospective and current employees and also processes unemployment claims for the University. She assists in the development and implementation of background check policies and procedures, provides training, and ensures compliance.

    Dan handles the budgetary and financial processes in Human Resources. He monitors budgets, approves transactions, and aids in the EPAF application process. He ensures compliance with tax treaties and employment authorization for International employees, and also monitors and transmits data with the Employee Information System (EIS).

She aids in the administration of family medical leave (FML), short term and long-term disability, workers compensation, and COBRA. She also leads the Benefits Orientation for new hires.

She provides assistance and audits records for the following retirement systems: PERSI, TIAA-CREFF, VALIC, FERS, CSRS and CSRS Offset, and the retiree medical program.

    Kendra is responsible for administering the employee benefit deductions process; responding to benefit-related questions and researching problems; training department users on Benefits on line; and assisting in benefit processing.  She manages the vendor payment process, including claims, fees, and ad hoc payments.  She also provides customer service support in resolving general and complex benefit issues.
