College of Engineering Allen Ambassadors Application
The College of Engineering (COE) Allen Ambassadors are a select group of students representing all departments within the U of I College of Engineering. COE Allen Ambassadors are a vital constituent in assisting the college in:
- Recruitment and retention of engineering and computer students,
- Idaho K12 outreach through STEM activities and competitions, and
- Alumni and industry partner relations.
COE Allen ambassadors work closely with the College of Engineering Micron Student Center and Engineering Development teams. They have the opportunity to develop professional skills including communication and leadership, professionalism, ethical decision making, and diversity acumen. They also network with professionals and establish working relations with college and university faculty, students, staff and administrators across the University of Idaho. Ambassadors participate in recruitment and promotional activities, as well as alumni events. Travel (at the expense of the college) is required.
Serving as a College of Engineering Allen Ambassador is an honor and a distinction. Being an ambassador requires a substantial time commitment. Due to the amount of resources invested in training and supporting ambassadors, there is a one year of service commitment required to the College of Engineering Allen Ambassador program.
