Doceo Center Lab
Initially established through a generous grant provided by the Albertson’s Foundation, the University of Idaho Doceo Center (UIDC) for Innovation + Learning provides resources to support innovative teaching with technology and provides professional development opportunities for teacher candidates, inservice K-12 teachers and administrators, and informal and higher education educators. Through the Doceo Center Lab and collaborations with a variety of public and private partners, the Doceo Center researches effective technology integration strategies to inform practitioners, administrators, and policy-makers. U of I community members may also check out a variety of common and emerging technology tools through the Gary Strong Curriculum Center for use and exploration.
The Doceo Center Lab, located in Education 341, is a unique facility that originally set the U of I campus standard for huddle tables in classrooms with integrated document cameras and mirroring available at each workstation. The integrated teaching station allows presenters to share their screen to all displays, share individual workstation screens to all displays, or allow local workstation use. Multiple modes of display mirroring and connections facilitate bring-your-own-device (BYOD) use as well.
Other technologies available the UIDC Lab include:
- KAT VR omni-directional treadmill & VR backpack PC
- Mr Beam II desktop laser cutter & engraver
- formlabs Form 2 desktop 3D printer
