About the Vice President
Mary Kay McFadden, a 1980 graduate of U of I, began her career in academia at her alma mater as the assistant director in what was then known as the High School/College Relations Office. In 1984, she became the associate director of Alumni. She returns to the Palouse most recently from Olin College of Engineering in Needham, Massachusetts, where she worked as vice president of Development, Family and Alumni Relations. From 2001 to 2013, she worked at Seattle University as the vice president for University Advancement. From 1989 to 2001, she worked at Washington State University in Pullman, finishing as their executive director of WSU West and vice president of the WSU Foundation. McFadden has her bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Idaho and an Executive MBA from Seattle University. She was inducted into U of I’s Alumni Hall of Fame in 2014.
