Reiko Emtman, MD

Reiko Emtman, MD, graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine and is Idaho WWAMI Medical Education alumna. She completed Psychiatry Residency at the University of Washington-Boise Track Program, where she was Chief Resident, then completed fellowship training in Geriatric Psychiatry at Cambridge Health Alliance, Harvard Medical School’s community-based teaching hospital. Professional interests include patient safety, quality improvement and interdisciplinary management of neurocognitive disorder with behavioral disturbance. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, camping and aquascaping.

Richard Howard, MS

Richard participated for three years in an Alzheimer’s caregivers group sanctioned by the Idaho Alzheimer's Association and was a caregiver himself for four and half years. Master of Science in wildlife ecology from Utah State University and has published scientific papers on raptor biology. He most recently completed his second book of short stories, “Stormy Waters on the Sagebrush Sea.” His stories and poems are inspired by his career as a wildlife biologist for the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service and as a fishing and hunting guide in Alaska. He has traveled extensively in Europe, Australia, South Africa, Central America and Indonesia.

Dane Kaster, PharmD, BCPS

Dane Kaster completed his Bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of Idaho before later earning his PharmD degree at Idaho State University. He did a post-graduate residency at the Boise VAMC before he began working as a clinical pharmacist in the inpatient hospital setting. His current role is focused on providing geriatric pharmacy care for the Community Living Center, which consists of a mixture of Long-Term Care, Rehab, Skilled, and Hospice/Palliative care patients. Dane also precepts pharmacy residents and is the director of Preceptor Development at the Boise VAMC. In his free time, Dane enjoys music, sports, and the Idaho outdoors.

Oni Kinberg, LCSW, MSSW

Oni Kinberg decided to pursue a career to help support people in the aging process after working as a certified nursing assistant specializing in Alzheimer's care. He has a Master of Science in social work from the University of Wisconsin Madison and has worked at the Idaho State Veterans Home in Boise since 2003, where he is the Director of Social Work. Outside of the Veterans Home, he has taught person-centered care, ethics, dementia care, behavioral management education, music and memory, and additional subjects for the Idaho Health Care Association, among other organizations.

Susan Melchiore, MD

Susan Melchiore, MD, graduated from the University of Illinois, Chicago School of Medicine and completed an Internal Medicine Residency at University of California - Irvine. Following a chief residency at the UC-Irvine and Long Beach VA Hospital, she completed her fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at UCLA. She remained on the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Medicine with the UCLA Division of Geriatric Medicine and then moved to North Idaho to begin private practice. In 2008, she co-founded On Site for Seniors, a faith-based, non-profit serving homebound seniors and their caregivers through house-call medicine and respite care that includes two adult day centers. She served as Medical Director with a skilled nursing facility for 20 years and is the current Medical Director of the North Idaho Memory Clinic. She is also on the teaching faculty for geriatrics with the Kootenai Clinic Family Medicine Residency in Coeur d’Alene. Outside of work, her interests include cooking, learning different cultural traditions, and family.

John Wolfe, PhD

John Wolfe is a clinical psychologist specializing in neuropsychology. After completing his Bachelor’s of Psychology at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, he earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and a Master's in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena. While living in the Los Angeles area, he held internships in child and adolescent psychology and served as an adult psychologist in the United States Air Force. After leaving active duty he completed a fellowship in neuropsychology in Rhode Island with didactics through Brown University. He continued at Brown University Medical School, supervising postdoctoral fellows in neuropsychology and helped begin a memory disorders program in Newport, Rhode Island. He has taught undergraduate psychology courses at various institutions in Florida, Rhode Island, and Washington, and since 2006, he has worked with the North Idaho Memory Clinic in Coeur d’Alene. When not working, John enjoys all aspects of doing triathlons as well as spending time with his wife and four children.
