Become a “citizen scientist” by collecting data on butterflies in your area. You’ll be part of a long-term monitoring project to determine the kinds of butterflies and their abundance in every county in the United States. Your work will help scientists to better understand and conserve butterfly populations. WINGS, Winning Investigative Network for Great Science, is a partnership between 4-H youths and professional scientists.
Some counties may have additional requirements. Contact your 4-H leader or county extension office
to learn more.
