Idaho 4-H holds statewide events for members in grades 8 and up who are ready to move beyond their county borders.
Know Your Government Conference
The Know Your Government Conference (KYG), is held each Presidents Day weekend while the Idaho legislature is in session. Designed for students in grades eight to nine, KYG is a project as well as an experience.
4-H Ambassadors work year-round to promote 4-H in their counties. They attend an annual training held each November in McCall. Ambassadors must be at least age 14 and have completed at least two years of 4-H projects and activities.
Teen Conference is held each June on the University of Idaho Moscow campus. Join teens from around the state for four days of fun and educational activities. For teens who have completed grades eight and up.
Idaho 4-H Leadership Retreat
Build leadership skills at the statewide retreat held in July. Empower yourself and others. For teens ages 13 to 18.
Livestock Judging Camp
Improve livestock judging skills at the June retreat. Focus on oral reasons and livestock classes in market and breeding beef, goat, sheep and swine. For teens ages 12 to 18.
Step outside your comfort zone and represent Idaho.
Teen 4-Hers can apply for one or more national 4-H conferences. Each has a rich history and purpose. Delegates selected as representatives of Idaho 4-H make new friends from around the country and enrich the lives of others.
Travel to Atlanta, Georgia, Washington, D.C. or Madison, Wisconsin for these national conferences.
National events require a minimum delegation size and may be canceled by the UI Extension 4-H Youth Development office.
