National 4-H Congress

  • November
  • Atlanta, Georgia
  • Ages 14 to 18
  • Never attended before

National 4-H Congress recognizes and promotes excellence in 4-H.

The Congress takes place in Atlanta, Georgia each November. Those attending enjoy workshops, cultural events, community service projects and sightseeing.

Idaho usually sends 10 to 15 delegates. Applicants must have have passed their 14th birthday, but not their 19th birthday, on Jan. 1 of the program year. They cannot have attended National 4-H Congress.

Funding may offset some costs, but delegates must expect to pay $500 to $800 depending on travel fees.

Application Process

Idaho 4-H applicants must submit National 4-H Congress Applications through 4-H Online. Online applications are available April 15 to June 6, 2016.

Online interviews may be scheduled after applications are received. All applicants will be notified by the UI Extension 4-H Youth Development office in June whether their application has been accepted.

Applicants use the 4-H Project & Activity Summary section to highlight achievements in their strongest project areas. All applications are considered for non-specific sponsored trips and for specific sponsored trips in project areas listed in the 4-H Project & Activity Summary.
