National 4-H Congress recognizes and promotes excellence in the 4-H Youth Development program. Those attending National 4-H Congress will enjoy workshops, cultural events, community service projects and sightseeing.
Held in Atlanta, Georgia each November, Idaho usually sends 10-15 delegates. While there is some support funding available to help offset some of the costs of this event, delegates can expect to pay an estimated $500-$800 depending on the amount available and increases in travel fees.
Idaho 4-H applicants must submit National 4-H Congress Applications through 4-H Online. Online applications will be available April 6th–June 6th, 2015. Online interviews may be scheduled after applications have been received by the state 4-H Youth Development office depending on the number of applications received or if further information is needed. All applicants will be notified by the State 4-H Office in June whether their application has been accepted.
Idaho 4-H members who have passed their 14th birthday, but not their 19th birthday, on January 1 of the program year and who have not previously attended National 4-H Congress may apply. Applicants will use the 4-H Project & Activity Summary section to highlight their achievements in one or more of their strongest project areas. All applications will be considered for non-specific sponsored trips and any specific sponsored trips offered in a project area included in the 4-H Project & Activity Summary section.
