F-Word Live Poetry Slam

"F-Word" LIVE Poetry Slam

Tuesday, November 12, 2013!
Borah Theater in the Student Union Building

This year's performances were amazing! We had 14 poets speak out about feminism and gender equality. The Borah theater was full of like-minded audience members who snapped and stomped their approval of each performance. If you missed this year, you don't want to miss out next fall. Keep an eye on the Women's Center calendar to learn about the 2014 show.

If you're an aspiring or seasoned poet and would like to perform at future "F-Word Live" event, please contact the Women's Center at wcenter@uidaho.edu. All local spoken word artists are invited to submit their work for the opportunity to perform a piece about the "other f-word," namely Feminism. Think about what feminism means for you and our future. Take this opportunity to be heard. This is a unique opportunity to build solidarity in our community, and celebrate the Women’s Center and Feminism. Submit your work and find your voice! The slam is open to poets of all levels, abilities, and genders.

About Spoken Word
Spoken word is a form of performance poetry that often uses alliterated prose or verse and occasionally, metered verse, to express social commentary. Traditionally, it is in the first person, is from the poet’s point of view, and is themed in current events.
