Women's Health

Welcome to our Women's Health section. You will find information and resources on a variety of topics.  If you still can't find what you are looking for, we invite you to ASK US ANYTHING, and we'll do our best to help.

Preventive Health

Immunizations, physical exams, routine prescriptions, removal of skin lesions, and more are available at the Student Health Clinic, Moscow Family Medicine, and other local medical providers.  As you get settled in Moscow, it is a good idea to establish a local medical provider so that you have someone to discuss your health concerns with as they arise.

Gynecological Information

For minor gynecological procedures such as Pap tests, you can visit the Student Health Clinic.  You may also choose to visit an off-campus provider for your care.  Some local providers include Moscow-Pullman OB/Gyn, Moscow Family Medicine or Planned Parenthood.

Contraception/Birth Control

The Student Health Clinic and Planned Parenthood (as well as other medical providers in the community) can provide you with prescriptions for many different birth control methods, including emergency contraception. Male condoms are available at most drug and grocery stores in Moscow, and free condoms are available in the Vandal Health Ed Resource Room in the Student Rec Center, Women’s Center, and the Student Health Clinic.

Sexually Transmitted Infections

If you are sexually active, and especially if you have multiple partners, or have had unprotected sex, it is important to get tested regularly, even in the absence of symptoms. The Student Health Clinic provides STI testing, treatment, and counseling on campus.  For assistance off campus, visit Moscow Family Medicine, Moscow QuickCARE, Planned Parenthood, or WISH Medical.

If you are or think that you might be pregnant, it is important to take a pregnancy test, at home or with a medical provider.  Pregnancy testing is available at the Student Health Clinic, or other off-campus medical providers.  Visit our pregnancy section for more information and resources.

Lactation Rooms on Campus

The University of Idaho offers two designated lactation rooms on campus for mothers to breastfeed their infants or express milk. Designated rooms are located in The Women's Center and Student Rec Center and are private rooms equipped with running water, outlets, and comfortable chairs. View the Women's Center's website for more information and a map of locations.
