Meet the Administrative Team
Angela O’Connell
It is great pleasure being the Director of the University of Idaho Children’s Center. I obtained by Bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Family Relations from the University of Idaho in 1986. I have been working as a director in the field of early childhood education for the past 25 years. I live in Moscow with my husband and two children. A few of my hobbies are being involved in my children’s extra curricular activities and taking country drives to enjoy the beautiful Palouse region landscapes. I am here to serve your family and committed to providing each child a quality early learning experience.

I have always known that I wanted to work with young children. As a child in daycare, I would sneak out of my preschool classroom to visit the baby room. As I was deciding on a major, I was working in a daycare in Oregon. This opportunity opened up the world of Early Childhood Education. I have a passion for those little ones! I obtained my degree in Early Childhood Education in 1995.
Children are learning and growing each and every day. The love and environment that we provide for them is an essential part of their development. I truly believe this is the most important work, and I am honored to be a part of this team.
I am married to a wildlife biologist, and have 3 wonderful children and a Chihuahua! We love taking new adventures as a family.

I attended the University of Idaho from 1985 to 1989 majoring in Elementary Education. I have been working in an education environment ever since, either in daycare or substitute teaching. Since February 2012, I have been at the UI Children’s Center as the Administrative Assistant. I have been married for 22 years and have two boys. I keep busy with Genesee High School activities and the family farm. I am really enjoying my job here at the Children’s Center and love interacting with the kids!
