Arranging Services
The University of Idaho is committed to providing excellent support services for students who are D/deaf and hard of hearing. The goal of the staff of Disability Support Services is to provide access to academic programs, university events, and services of the university. Services available through Student Disability Services (DSS) include:
Meet with DSS staff and fill out intake forms
Provide current disability documentation
Communication Services
Communication Services provided by Disability Support Services will be available for the following activities:

Services available through Student Disability Services (DSS) include:
- Interpreting in ASL, PSE, or SEE
- Notetaking Services ( Please see the Notetaking information sheet for procedure in acquiring a notetaker)
- Assistive Listening Devices
- Academic Advisement
- Priority Registration
- Referral to campus services
Meet with DSS staff and fill out intake forms
Provide current disability documentation
- Meet with the Coordinator of Deaf Services to discuss appropriate accommodations
- Take the accommodation form to instructors for signatures
- Submit the signed accommodation form to DSS for your student file
Communication Services
Communication Services provided by Disability Support Services will be available for the following activities:
- Student Classes
- Activities required by the instructor for a class
- Meetings between students and professors
- University of Idaho sponsored activities
- ASUI sponsored activities
- Meetings between students and faculty/staff of the university
