Hands on Experience

The Athletic Training faculty and student engage in hands on experience in a couple of ways.  Within the university and externally within the athletic training profession.

Faculty and students serve the university community is by offering an "Athletic Training Clinic" that is free to students, faculty, staff and community members with a physician referral. This clinic allows the student to take a leading, active role in the evaluation and treatment of injuries and illnesses under direct supervision from the Athletic Training faculty. The clinic personnel receive guidance and referrals internally from UI Student Health and communicates cooperatively with local physicians and other health care providers. This clinic utilizes a unique model of health care and presents students with real world experience while refining clinical practice.

The "Athletic Training Clinic " is located in Memorial Gym B1. It has limited hours and sees walk-in patients on a first-come, first-serve basis.
