The University of Idaho Boise provides Southwestern Idaho with premier graduate education, and professional development for practicing professionals; internationally-recognized research in agriculture, water, natural resources, and fish science; as well and community education through Extension efforts in 4-H and business incubation.

Agricultural Education

Agricultural Education is a partner in the college’s delivery of research-based information and new knowledge to those engaged in the production of safe, nutritious food and those involved in the extensive food systems in Idaho, the Pacific Northwest, and the global society. The emphasis is on creative solutions and methodologies of quality program delivery by faculty and staff. 

Art and Architecture

The College of Art and Architecture's Boise-based Urban Design Center offers students an integrated design education with the opportunity to work with local professionals and contribute to the urban landscape of the rapidly evolving Treasure Valley.


The Department of Leadership and Counseling prepares compassionate and competent professionals who transform schools and human service organizations into high achieving, inclusive, continuous learning communities.  The graduate programs include, adult organizational learning and leadership, rehabilitation counseling and human services, educational leadership, professional practices doctoral and school counseling. 


The College of Engineering at the University of Idaho Boise focuses on masters and doctoral programs uniquely designed for full and part time students as well as practicing engineers. Externally funded research is conducted in bio-energy and ecohydraulics through Bio-Energy Research Group and Center for Ecohydraulics Research (CER).
