Tutoring Service-Learning Internship
The Program
There is a unique opportunity to tutor and mentor students in Credit Recovery and After-School Tutoring Programs at Lakeside High School, in Plummer, Idaho. The Plummer-Worley School District is a small rural public school system located within the boundaries of the Coeur d'Alene Indian Reservation.
Internship Requirements
The Service-Learning Internship is open to all majors. An application is required, you must be a sophomore or higher standing, and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. You will earn 3 internship credits through your department or our office for completing this program. The credits may apply towards your major, a minor or certificate, or elective credits.
Logistics
To participate in this program you must be available 4 hours a day on: TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS from August 27th to December 10th. You have the option to serve with the Morning Group from 8 am-12 pm OR the Afternoon Group from 1pm-5pm. You will be with the same group the entire semester. Transportation will be provided from UI’s Moscow campus to Lakeside High School at no cost to internship participants. There will be planned reflection activities throughout the semester and a final reflection/celebration during finals week.
All applications submitted will be considered within a week of the date submitted. Application must be received by August 27th.
