Posted Mon, 30 Oct 2017 16:47:00 -0700This position is responsible for the recruitment, hiring and dismissing, training, supervising, and assisting with scheduling of around 30 math tutors at the Polya Mathematics Learning Center. Responsibilities also include providing support to faculty, staff and students by proctoring, grading and inputting student written work, recording student scores within the Polya Database, and responding to student emails. This person will also assist in the day-to-day maintenance of the Polya Database and all other software used in the Polya Center and will create and send weekly grade reports to various departments on campus. This position serves as the supervising tutor for Math 108, Math 143, and Math 144 as needed and full-time during the summer session. Posted Thu, 26 Oct 2017 15:00:00 -0700On Oct. 21-22, three UI undergraduate College of Science math majors, Danny Bugingo, Beau Horenberger, and Carly Scott, won first place and a $100 cash prize during a mathematical modeling competition for undergraduates at Carroll College in Montana. Seventeen teams from six different schools participated, including Carroll College, Montana State University, Washington State University, University of Providence, Rocky Mountain College, and the University of Idaho.

We are inviting you to join this initiative again for fall 2017. Attendance to Polya in the first weeks of school is essential to a student's success in these courses. Read more
