Welcome to LASR

LASR allows University of Idaho and private sector scientists and staff to work collaboratively, addressing the scientific challenges identified as industry priorities. The laboratory is housed at the Jacklin Science and Technology Center in Post Falls and offers state-of-the-art laboratory space, both wet and dry.

What is LASR?

LASR is a not-for-profit corporation (501(c)(3)), established as a separate legal entity for the purpose of supporting research outreach of the University of Idaho.

  • LASR will foster applied research and technology transfer in its geographical area, including short term, milestone-driven research and development projects with commercial partners.
  • LASR will create additional opportunities for faculty and student participation in research and opportunities for technology transfer into the private sector to support economic growth in the state of Idaho.
  • LASR will be an economic driver in the region, creating researcher and technician jobs.

Biosafety Training Offered Sept. 29

The University of Idaho Biosafety Officer provides regularly scheduled biosafety training sessions for faculty, staff and students. The next training will be 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, in Morrill Hall Room 402. To RSVP, please contact the biosafety officer, Audrey Harris, at 208-885-4054 or biosafety@uidaho.edu. Faculty, staff and students also may contact Harris to request in-lab biosafety training. Read more
